Helpful Pumpkin Juicing Tips

Pumpkins are are fantastic source of B-complex vitamins and contain a essential vitamins A, C and E. They’re also a source of calcium, copper, iron, magnesium, manganese, phosphorus, potassium, zinc and fibre.

Preparing Your Pumpkin

  • All pumpkins are edible, but not all pumpkins are equal! In the UK we’re not as big on pumpkins as our American cousins but that doesn’t mean we can’t indulge in the occasional pumpkin flavoured treat. Try to avoid giant pumpkins as these aren’t as sweet as smaller pumpkins and taste similar to squash.
  • Remove the rind before juicing your pumpkin.
  • While pumpkin seeds are edible, you will want to remove these before juicing this fruit.
  • Pumpkins alone don’t produce much juice, so you’ll need to combine it with other fruits and vegetables. Try using carrots, potatoes (sweet and normal) or more tropical fruits like pineapple and mangoes. They also go well with greens like kale and spinach.
  • Do not cook the pumpkin. Juice it raw!
