The Hottop KN-128E Food Dehydrator - Dehydrating a variety of foods and herbs is an excellent, natural way of preserving their goodness and concentrating and enhancing their flavours. Make your own banana chips, dried mango or jerky in this dehydrator and you will notice the difference in flavour from shop bought products.

This affordable dehydrator with stackable drying trays offers a very economical introduction to dehydrating and the smoke-tinted trays offer a good view of the contents as drying progresses. The Hottop KN-128E Food Dehydrator is also the most compact dehydrator in our range and a good choice where space is limited. As with most stacking tray dehydrators, heat is distributed evenly around the drying area by the fan at the bottom of the unit and trays can be rotated during the drying process to equalize drying times for each tray. Temperature is fixed at approximately 80 degrees C, 176 degrees F. Drying is achieved with a miserly power consumption of 250 watts, which means the Hottop KN-128E Food Dehydrator is also very cheap to run.

Dehydrating is the best way to preserve the essence of a raw apple, as well as other fruits and vegetables. Dehydrating doesn't subject foods to high temperatures associated with traditional canning methods. For safety reasons, low-acid foods are heated to temperatures of 240ºF degrees in a pressure canner. High-acid produce reaches a temperature of 212ºF in a water-bath canner. When a raw food is heated to an internal temperature of 120ºF or higher, much of it's nutritional value is lost, especially enzymes. Canning also leaches out water soluble vitamins and minerals, which further depletes the healthful qualities of raw-living foods.
