The Green Star uses twin gears to crush the produce and expel the juice. These twin gears are made of Stainless Steel with plastic ends and are patented as they contain magnets and bioceramic materials in them. These magnets and bioceramic materials are said to extract higher levels of minerals out of the produce and also give fresher juice that’s enzymes and vitamins have a longer shelf life. The fact that the twin gears operate at a very low speed (when compared to many other juicers) also helps to considerably slow down the oxidation of nutrients. There is also virtually no or very little heat transfer thus helping in retaining enzyme content. Indeed the technology of the Green Star twin gears enables carrot juice to be stored for up to 2 days in the fridge without significant loss of nutritional value.
Twin Gear Technology
Twin Gears with its powerful triturating action, cuts and juices all fruits and vegetables including carrots, celery, leafy vegetables and wheatgrass. The unique twin gear unit features a pocket-recessed area to more easily accept fibrous vegetables and herbs, 3 separate points that cut strong fibres like celery so the appliance does not get jammed or clogged and the extremely close clearance of the twin gears at 0.1mm (4/1000 of and inch). These features combine to more easily, thoroughly and gently extract more juice, more quickly, leaving the ejected pulp drier.
More On Twin Gears
At only 110 revolutions per minute, minimal heat build up develops in the juice and therefore initial oxidation is delayed allowing more leisurely consumption while getting full nutritional benefits. A recent independent comparative study on how 5 different juicers effect juice stability showed that apples at 59.9oF juiced in a Green Power only increased in temperature a bit over 1/2 of 1 degree to 60.44oF. The other 4 juicers ranged from almost 3 1/2 degrees to over 14oF higher than the original temperature of the fruit (these machines were all of the high-speed variety).
At the core of each rotating gear is a series of in-line magnets that produce a focused magnetic field of 2600 gauss through which the juice flows during the juicing process. As it flows through the focused field, the water molecules in the juice are broken up allowing the atoms to recombine with other minerals such as calcium, potassium, sodium and magnesium into new molecular structures. This magnetic process therefore extracts a greater % of mineral nutrients from the produce during juice extraction and is instrumental in keeping those minerals in a suspended colloidal form the body can use for a longer length of time.
Far Infrared is the natural resonant frequency range of water and allergenic substances including man. We call it the life force frequency. Infrared wave length ranges from .7 to 1000 microns, just beyond visible light.
