The EasyGreen Automatic Sprouter has a 24 hour timer function to allow water misting in 15 minute intervals as many times as required a day. A sprouting seed generates heat through a chemical process during its germination but also needs to be cooled to prevent mould and rot. The patented MikroFarm seed sprouter supplies a fine water mist and filtered oxygen simultaneously to the seeds, thus cooling and oxygenating the seed and water.
It also has its own water reservoir to ensure the water is not recycled preventing seeds from being contaminated and reducing the possibility of particles clogging the jets and nozzles like other automatic seed sprouters. The reservoir allows solutions to be added like liquid kelp for extra nutrition or hydrogen peroxide for disinfecting the crops.
The EasyGreen Automatic Sprouter does not require the seeds to be pre-soaked before commencing sprouting like other seed sprouters, thus reducing the time taken from germination to sprout by up to 40%. It can be used to grow produce hydroponically and is equally happy sprouting with soil so is suitable for growing wheatgrass and sunflower greens and other micro herbs.
